Life After Heart Attack

It is generally well known that medical interns are very overworked and have to do all the scut work that other doctors do not want to do.

During grand rounds on a patient who had just suffered a heart attack, the head of cardiology professor was asked by the patient when he could have sex.

The professor replied, Mr. Jones, I already told you that you could do no work. Sex is 100% work. But just to be fair, we will ask the other doctors here.

He says to the chief resident, How much work is there in sex? The resident says, I believe sex is 90% work and 10% pleasure.

The junior resident says, Sir, I think to be fair, sex is 80% work and 20% pleasure.

The intern, having been up 36 hours straight and hardly able to stand, says I think sex is no work and all pleasure.

You idiot, says the professor, how did you come to that ridiculous conclusion.

The intern responds, Sir, I figured if there was any work at all in it, I would be doing yours for you.

To answer the question, there will likely need to be changes in lifestyle. Certainly, smoking is out of the question. And eating habits and exercise recommended by the doctor will need to be followed.

But with all the medical advances today, there is no reason one cannot live a good life after a heart attack, following the doctor's recommendations. I just played tennis the other day with someone who had a triple cardiac bipass.
